GossipGirl Style Goes Global
I have been sort of overwhelmed lately with the menswear fashion stomping down the runways of Milan and through into Paris and I can’t help but realize that it seems a certain designer is taking some inspiration for his Autumn 09 collection from our favourite men on television.
While Salvatore Ferragamo has always been known for impeccable style and perfectly tailored menswear, his most recent collection, just shown this past week has got a little bit more upper east side flair than normal. I’ve pulled some images and put together a little collage of some of Ferragamo’s best looks.
While it’s not strange that much of the suiting fits the top style Chuck Bass, what is surprising is that even the haircut suits Chuck’s character as well. There’s even styling that’ll suit up Nate and Dan, with hair do’s to top it off.
Head to toe, this line was made for the men of GossipGirl. And while designers may be playing off the much loved television series, let’s only hope that some of our Canadian men’ll do the same.

Question:Who Goes to Yale?
Hey there, Gossip Girl fans, Willful Muse.
After a long time at home doing nothing but sitting around doing nothing with my poor deformed arm, I’ve finally caught up on all the episodes. “Yay me!”
Seriously, who tries to plunge people into hell just to get into the university of their choice? I’m not passing judgement but that’s kinda freaky. Ask me where I’m going and I’ll be proud to say Community College. (Okay, so technically no, since my parents would probably murder me if I dropped out of my current university; I’m not going to mention the name since it’s a painful reminder that I missed out on a ton of fun during my stay at the hospital…)
You have money, looks and well…everything. Why try to get everything perfect and spotless for a University? I don’t get it but maybe Blaire thinks Yale suddenly increases her social status or insures her top spot for Queen Bee.
Yes, I’m just rambling, but it’s been quite a while since I’ve been on my computer and it’s time to flex my hands!

Lol! He Was Under My Nose The Whole Time!
Hey Everyone!
So, I was kinda bored over the weekend and was flipping through channels when I came across “John Tucker Must Die”. Now, I’ve seen the movie before and thought it was alright, so needless to say because I had nothing better to do I thought I’d watch it again on TV just for the sake of it. I’m sitting there watching it (not paying much attention) when I hear his voice..so now I’m thinking..”Hey..this guy sounds a lot like Dan..but, Dan isn’t in this movie”…so I look up and BOOM! It’s Dan Humphrey a.k.a (Penn Badgley…as if it’s not his real name..LoL!) I could not believe it! Such a change from the Dan I know now! (lol, like I *know* him) And I didn’t know this back in the day, nor did I even know who Penn Badgeley was when I first saw the movie..but after I was like..awwww..DANNNNN!..lol..he looked soo cute guys! He had long flowing, wavy hair and just looked soo adorable! (That’s him below, basically what he looked like in the movie..I’m loving that pic! Hotnesss!)
Now, if you guys are already ahead of the game don’t get all upset and say..”DUHHH..we ALREADY KNEW THATTTT!”..lol..because I didn’t! And true to form, his character in the movie was just like Dan on Gossip Girl! He was honest, and kind, funny and sarcastic, lol just like the Dan we all know and love!…And honestly, when I found out it was him..that made the movie that much more interesting to me the second time around lol!
Anyway, I’m outta here..just wanted to share that little tid-bit with you guys..(well those who didn’t know)

Gossip Girl Spinoff…Sink or Swim?
Hey everyone! What do we have here? Looks like Gossip Girl will be pulling a “back to the future” type of move with this new idea for a show they have in place. It seems that The CW has announced they will be creating a prequel to all the drama that we have come to know and love with a seemingly coming of age story based on the life of Lily van der Woodsen! From what we already know she led a very scandalous life (not to mention, a tad promiscuous…but who doesn’t love that in a show!?) and there promises to be juicy storylines along the way as she eventually becomes Serena and Eric van der Woodsen’s mother. The show will follow Lily’s life as a wild and troubled teen growing up in L.A. during the 1980’s. The Spinoff will be created by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage who are also the creators of GG and The O.C. I’m interested to see what the cast will be decked out in, as well as all the drama Lily got herself into back in the day (especially what led to her child with Rufus Humphrey!) I’m just hoping that it won’t be cheesey and predictable and end up falling flat on it’s face! The CW is set to air this episode in place of an *actual* Gossip Girl episode (I swear it better be good! Coming in between Gossip Girl and I…just kidding =)…slightly) calling it the “backdoor pilot” on May 11th.
What do all of you think about this game plan of theirs? Are you interested in the past life of Lily van der Woodsen that much to watch a show based on her youth?

Salut Canadian Gossip Girl fans,
First off, the return episode of gossip girl was relief to my soul. A month without upper eastside flair and gossip had almost done me in, but, thankfully, after episode fourteen, we have more than enough to talk about until the latest postings from GG herself.
I’d like to introduce myself as s. Staying true to everything gossipgirl, ‘s’ has been my tag line to my personal fashion blog, and is what you can call me here at gossipgirl.ca.
After reading all of the gossipgirl novels through grade school and high school, the debut of gossipgirl as a television series sent my heart wheeling. The storyline, as we all already know, is enough to keep us all hooked, but what I was dying to see was the wardrobe for every character I loved, and, each one I despised.
While Patricia Fields turned the fashion from the pages of the popular novel series into the real life look in season one, Eric Daman (and his assistant Meredith Markworth-Pollack) spun new twists to the season two fashion story for gossipgirl.
If you haven’t heard of Eric Daman, you better well have heard of Patricia Fields, seeing as she’s the main name behind the wardrobe designs for Sex and the City. Now, back to Eric. Well, Eric worked with Patricia for three years on the set of Sex and the City. His work there really shone, seeing as he’s now the man in charge for gossipgirl. But, I mean, with there being talks of a second Sex and the City: The Movie, you can’t blame Pat for putting all of her efforts there.
Eric transformed the fashion for our favourite upper east siders in season two. While we were given a nice little preview to fashion inspirations our favourite characters pulled off, they really became more than noticeable in season two. How much do you love the Kate Moss inspiration for Serena, and how about Audrey Hepburn for Miss Blair? I know. I love it as well.
While I may not have every answer on where you can buy Blair’s latest worn cocktail dress, or Serena’s kickin’ boots, I’ll try my very best to hand you the ins and outs of designers and the gossipgirl fashion from each episode, served with a side of my own opinions, future predictions, and overall fashion critiques.

Good Riddens, G!….Or So I Thought..!!
~~OK….So, what is this I’m hearing about none other than drama-stirring Georgina Sparks returning to Gossip Girl!? Just when I thought the Upper-East Side was rid of *her* and her evil plots and schemes to destroy Dan&Serena, I hear this buzz from friends and magazines that she is due to rear her wicked little head near the end of the season! Just the way she came in and took over Serena’s life and manipulated her every move got on my nerves! It’s on Serena too for allowing it…but, damn! No, Georgina! Create drama in someone else’s life..lol..that I can bare! Leave Dan and Serena aloneeee! Or, how about you just be nice for a change of pace? Hmm? Leave that behaviour back at BootCamp! (HAHA, love how Blair made that happen! You just don’t mess with the Queen B!)
Why is she returning? What other foul tricks does she have up her sleeve? What do you guys think of all this??
I’ll watch and find out! But, I won’t like it!
Here’s to Hoping Georgina will just leave well enough alone…

Gossip Girl Has Resumed!! FINALLYYYY!! *And…Chuck is not Dead!* =)
Hey Everyone! Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Just like our favourite show I’m back with a post after the holiday season! I am so glad the show returned tonight! I was getting so anxious watching the previews and commercials for weeks without it satisfying my hunger! It’s a good thing I have my season 1 DVD box set to rely on! Forgive me if I mention scenes out of order lol, I’m still on my GG high!
So, episode 14: “In the Realm of The Basses” it was a good episode! I was anticipating *a lot* more drama going in to the episode, but, I wasn’t disappointed! The episode was basically about Chuck’s estranged Uncle Jack (who happens to be Quin from the show “Dexter” in case anyone watches that show as well!) who randomly appears on the scene to “look after Chuck’s well-being” after he brings him home after being M.I.A after his father’s funeral (R.I.P. Bart…even though you treated my love like dirt). The strange part is how everyone just knows who he is even though there has been no mention of an uncle or a Jack for as long as I can remember..(whatever, I’ll just let that go); and Jenny returning to Constance Billard with a whole new attitude and Eric by her side. ( Could there be a love connection forming there anytime soon? hmm?)
~~Where to begin? Well, first off the 3 wicked step-sisters: Penelope, Isabel, and Hazel need a good kick in the face! I mean seriously! Who do they think they are!? The way they treated Nelly Yuki! “Nelly hold my coffee, refill my water, *drops yogurt on her own shoe purposely* CLEAN OFF MY SHOE WITH YOUR FINGER! PAPER SMUDGES!!”..OMG! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? Then on top of that break into her locker and smash her super huge glasses!? Come on!! I would have snapped! Like, who are they? Really now..
~~And aww!! =) Dan&Serenaaaa! I swear, *3rd* time better be a charm! I could have used a more dramatic reunion though instead of that little soft and timid conversation..but I’ll let that slide and settle for a kiss in the hallway as long as they’re together! Such cuteness! <33 ~~Then the whole Rufus/Lily plot with their love-child and giving it up for adoption situation. And when he basically kicked Serena out of his house..whoa! Relax Rufus, you’re upset and angered with the whole ordeal, I get it, but…come on.
~~Jack all of a sudden just shows up as if he belongs lol out of nowhere and is around every two seconds! Really random (he’s kind of cute though..so i’ll let that be.) And then we have Queen B stepping up and taking charge! Talk about supporting your man! Props to Blair! And I’m sure we all can’t deny that even though Chuck looked all sketchy and was clearly baked off of God knows what he still manages to look sexy!..even though he can be a real “Basshole” sometimes to Blair. You know what killed me!? When he was all drunk with the hoochies around him at Victrola and he says to Blair..”What?..Are you going to tell me you love me again!?”…=|..I swear I would have died!
~~Is it just me? Or did this episode actually make me not as annoyed at Jenny and begin to like her more and more? She finally grew some balls ( I know she’s a girl but whatever) and stood up to the people she actually needed to the whole time! Good for her! And I have to love Eric lol so small and cute and always spouting his words of wisdom..(something along the lines of) Jenny: (after finding out Nelly Yuki played her to climb the social ladder) “Is she serious? Really? Wow, Nothing has changed!”..Eric: “Nothing…except You!” lol love him! And if Nelly Yuki can run back to those evil heifers after all they did to her to attend some party then she deserves whatever bulls**t they serve her…*rolls eyes* so Lame!!
~~As usual I was loving the outfits Serena and Blair wore this episode! Very cute and stylish! Especially when Serena was decked out in her leather jacket and skirt ensemble, and when Blair worked that black dress with the diamonds (rhinestones? lol probably not!) around the collar and the really cute matching black beret! And when she told Serena..”I’m not abandoning Chuck, I’m saving myself!”..I was thinking what words of wisdom! So true B, preach!…and then I was like..but..this is CHUCK! lol you can’t just *leave* him! Blair really impressed me when she walked out on those stuck-up socialites! I thought she was going to cover up her feelings for Chuck and Serena but she really gave it to those old women! I was so proud of her! Another set of props to Blair on that one!
~~In the words of Blair..”Damn that Mother-Chucker!” for potentially driving a stake into the Sereana/Dan on-again romance! You already know Dan is going to do the noble and honest thing and may end up calling it quits with Serena due to their estranged sibling they both share! UGH! If they break-up again with this rollercoaster romance I’m going to scream! ~~Tell me why..when Chuck was standing on the edge of the rooftop wobbling in his drunken state my heart literally stopped…more or less LOL and I was *actually* feeling nervous for him..as if this was a real life occurence and he could actually fall and die LOL (Obsessed much?…Nahhhh! lol) and OMGGG, when Chuck took Blair’s hand after she was pleading with him to come down and to do anything he wants to himself but not to do this to her..and he fell into her arms and said I’m Sorry my heart melted! I love them together! <333
~~And talk about the episode picking up the suspense and drama when I thought there wasn’t much left to be had!…What is to become of Dan/Serena now? What lies ahead for Lily/Rufus and their child? What is the big secret Blair is keeping from Chuck that happened on New Years that Uncle Jack apparently knows about!? I have no idea..but, what I do know is it promises to be juicy! Just as all secrets here always are!..Stay Tuned to find out! I know I will!
~~Time for me to catch some ZzzZZzzZZ’s though! I just had to get that off my chest, thanks for listening! =) lol!

Dramatic GG Ads
Is anyone else seriously digging the oh so dramatic new ads before each episode?
The slow,monotonous beat of the piano, volume rising as the drama increases. The passionate reactions, Chuck practically spitting in someone’s face saying “you disgust me” in that oh so sexy voice of his?
More than ever these ads are making me want to watch the next episode! Even if sometimes they don’t quite live up to actual episodes themselves.
