Dramatic GG Ads
Is anyone else seriously digging the oh so dramatic new ads before each episode?
The slow, monotonous beat of the piano, volume rising as the drama increases. The passionate reactions, Chuck practically spitting in someone’s face saying “you disgust me” in that oh so sexy voice of his?
More than ever these ads are making me want to watch the next episode! Even if sometimes they don’t quite live up to actual episodes themselves.

How Much Have I Missed?
Several personal family issues have prevented me from watching, much less blogging, about GG. I finally got a chance to watch an episode tonight and oh my! How much have I missed? really? in like one or two episodes everything has changed. I shouldn’t be this surprised, I know but oh my.
Luckily I totally knew where to go to get an in-depth synopsis, right here. I had my laptop in front of me and instantly punched in that reliable url– gossipgirl.ca and found all the answers I needed.
Ok the most important thing to talk about…Little J’s new hair do, big fat don’t! It’s way too thinned out, choppy and piecey! It doesn’t do her any justice at all. And that new teen queen hits the punk circuit thing is, well, entirely too cliche. Why could she not do rebellion in a chic way? I also had high, perhaps totally unrealistic, hopes that Little J would go out there, on her own, and succeed and make a name for herself, but she had to turn into this little brat instead. Oh well, I guess I’m not surprised. At all.
And poor Mr. Archibald, I hardly think it’s fair that he should be alienated by everyone like that. He made a mistake, the kid’s life is a mess! Let him be. Then again, rationality isn’t really anyone’s forte.
I do kind of like the idea that Father Bass has dosiers on his new family members. Talk about covering your assets! But Serena giving that file over to her new boyfriend to “find out who she really is” eek! Relationship suicide! This show is supposed to be about SECRETS! Sometimes they work out, sometimes they really don’t. But you can’t just lay it all out on the table like that. Haven’t these kids learned anything?
Maybe not.
Until next time,
xoxo
Beauty School Dropout
This week’s episode of Gossip Girl may have actually hit on an important subject- it just happened to be a little buried under all the accusations of “spotlight stealing”.
Little J has decided to take matters into her own hands and pursue a fashion career by dropping out of highschool. I know that the classic response is “stay in school” and legally every minor has to, but how much school is needed? If you already have a passion and the drive to achieve your goals then how important is it to pursue more schooling?
I recalled an article I had read about the ever talented John Mayer where he states that despite his growing up with a high school principal father and a teacher mother, he just went to school to get the whole ordeal over with. Shortly thereafter he dropped out of college to pursue his talents on his own accord. Look at where he is now, several grammy awards and a billion dollars later he’s still keeping his dreams alive.
So- what do our GG readers think? How important is a post secondary education if you’re already passionate and have proven yourself talented at a certain craft? Should little J suffer the perils of high school and all the irrelevant childish in fighting? or should she break out on her own and learn about the business the hard way? starting at the bottom and design her way to the top?

Cougar traps all the young Cubs
And the award for most disgusting character goes to…Catherine Mason! That cougar can’t seem to get her claws into enough young cubs, let alone her very own stepson. I’m not sure if that little plot twist is dramatic or just thoroughly disturbing. What would you do if you found out your boyfriend is playing hooky with his own stepmother? Yuck!
On to the rest of the cast…it seems that S now stands for Satan! Step aside Queen B you’re about to get your title trampled on by your very dearest best friend. I’ll tell you what S doesn’t stand for…Sober, apparently this season calls for lots of potential A.A. meetings. I’m kind of excited to see the rise of the old Serena, but the true test is going to be if she can be a match to our resident bitch, Blair. I love Blair as the queen of manipulation, she did it so well in the first season, if S doesn’t live up to that GG viewers are going to be in for some major disappointments.
All that is Dark comes to Light
A city wide blackout doesn’t seem to deter any scandal from rising to the top- in fact, all the darkness does, is bring things to light.
The lusty B discovers that propriety has its place, unfortunately that place is no where near the bedroom. Enter the crafty, if a little “frustrated”, Mr. Bass whose clearly been practicing his British accent! But what about the Duke…will he ever take the plunge?
The Duchess proves to be quite the masterful trickster, she even makes B look slightly amateur. The Duchess knows that some information needs to stay in the dark… and that’s her ticket to keeping Nate on a very short leash.
Alas, is it truly the end for S and lonely boy? While the light may shine on their love, it also shows how different their worlds truly are…but will love conquer all…again?
As the lights start to spark all over New York, Lonely boy lends support to his dear friend, lonely girl! The beautiful Vanessa finally eats her words, and understands what her good friend was so wrapped up in the season before…turns out the Upper East Side isn’t the simplest place to figure out … especially not in the dark.

A Basshole After My Own Heart! And other GG news.
L. Here, post freak out, and ready to dish!
Here’s a quick recap, in case anyone hasn’t seen the previous post, and missed the episode, here’s a teensy taste at one of the most topsy-turvy plot twisted episodes in the history of GG.
While Blair spits out Chuck-swears like a sailor on leave, she falls further in…love? with her dear Lord Marcus, but B’s getting a little anxious to meet her Lord’s Queen Bee, or should I say, Duchess?
Serena and Dan can’t seem to keep their hands off each other, or their tongues out of each other’s mouths, long enough to discuss their “relationship problems” but let’s face it, what girl in her right mind would have a problem with Dan’s hands all over her? (Seriously, if you’re one of those girls, you need to let us know!)
Oh My Effing God!
So L. has had a recent panic attack that only other Gossip Girl lovers will truly understand.
It’s 6:00 pm, L. is still at work, with an end in sight, but feeling nervous about making it home in time for the 8:00pm viewing of the second episode “Never Been Marcused” of season two of Gossip Girl.
*Breathe*
*Wipes the perspiration off her forehead*
L is proactive, she phones home to her sister and instructs her on how to record the episode, should she (heaven forbid!) miss even the beginning. Can’t even fathom the thought. Sister says all signs are a go and L breathes a sigh of relief. *Phew*
L gets home, rather late, GG is over and all she wants is to cuddle up with the remote and begin watching another episode of sexy scandalous upper-east-side fun…but wait…the episode…the “recording”…is NOWHERE TO BE FOUND!!!!!
I know, sounds like the end of a Hitchcock movie! What’s a girl to do???
Never fear! CTV.ca is here! Finally Canadians have a chance to catch up on missed episodes!
A Channel, in association with CTV now air episodes of Gossip Girl online. Thank you CTV for saving L the horrible upset of missing an episode!!!

Here We Go Again
Let’s face the facts, Gossip Girl Season 1 was heavy on the lies and it seems that Season 2 will be no different, but what happens when the tables are turned, and our Uptown boys and girls have become pros at lying to themselves…
While B and C continue to play their sordid game of cat and mouse, their passionate hatred only reveals their true passion for one another. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, but here’s something to take the edge off- no, not a gin martini, a Lord. Looks like B’s fake boyfriend “James” might have some real potential.
XoXo - The Recap
Spotted: old fan turned new blogger writing for the Canadian Gossip Girl site. We’ll call her, L. Why does she love this show? Here’s a short list: the drama, the fashion, the hot cast, the secrets, the lies, the rumors, the relationships, the breakups, the makeups the friendships, the enemies, the backstabbing, the cheating, the sex, the drugs, and did I mention the drama??
Last season we left our Upper East Side kids feeling sad and lonely… but not for long!
S and N plan to reunite in the Hamptons, while C runs away from his feelings for B, and B just plain runs away! (Not without hot business man in tow, of course). Rufus is heartbroken, and though the new Mrs. Bass had a stunning wedding- her marriage may wind up being less than perfect. And what about little J? will she ever get a boyfriend? Will she ever figure out how to be popular without compromising her morals or her relationship with big brother Dan? And will the noble hearted Dan find a match in his best friend, and former girlfriend, Vanessa? So many questions, and so many crazy, fun, naughty ways that it could all work out!!
Keep tuned, there’s lots to come, and make sure you come back to read more episode recaps and comments and questions about all that’s going on! I’ll make sure to keep you posted on all the gossip.
