I Like Surprises!

ShorStar – Monday, September 8, 2008 – Leave a comment

hello to all once again!

I have to start off by saying that I completely take back my comment in the blog I wrote about the first episode. The juiciness that is Nate and “The Duchess” is nothing like a “Pacey and Ms. Jacobs” scenario! It is getting more and more fantastic as the stories unfold, and perhaps more excitingly..intertwine in the most malicious ways possible!

Something feels fresh about this season, almost like its the calm before the storm for all the characters and the vicious fantasy land they live in, their reality. I am loving it all so far…except one thing

I am not at all for S and D being together. There is something about D that has put me off this season, I feel he is a little evil ;) I can’t fully explain why. Maybe it is his “look”, or perhaps I am crazy. S and D immediately getting back together (possibly) must mean a backfire is soon approaching.

I can’t wait!

A new school year is going to bring the best of the best.

Scandal, love, hate, sex, friends, enemies, scheming, lying, cheating, disaster, perfection.

I for one am counting the days until episode 3!

Update on Leighton’s Scandalousness!

ShorStar – Monday, September 8, 2008 – 3 comments

Hey Gang ShorStar here with an update on my past blog about Leighton Meester’s Born Behind Bars story…

The article can be found here, but in a nutshell the current “gossip” is that Leighton’s momma, Connie has been writing a script for the past 3 or 4 years about her child being born “behind bars”. However with the sudden release of this juicy gossip, Connie is in talks with her manager (ya…crazy lady has a manager of her own) has decided to change that “script” into a “memoir”.

IE: let me bank some money off of my daughters fame…

What a class act this woman is! She and Lynne Spears should have a Hollywood dinner stat…they would be a powerhouse if they play their cards right…

Be honest….what are your thoughts on this? all PR is good PR right?

either way…you know you love it

Hey all…I have been MIA for a couple of days…no excuse, the weather is gloomy and makes me lazy…

However I wasn’t too lazy to create a Facebook page dedicated to all of us and the website! hooray!

Click here to check it out!

There are not a ton of people added yet and there is not a whole lot going on so we must take control and get involved to spread the word about us, Gossip Girl and all that is fantastic like that :)

I know Facebook can be a bit annoying anymore but it is truly a great way to spread the word about the site and all the greatness it holds!

I will have an updated blog later today but this was my quick note for now…

PS- I LOVE MONDAYS woot woot, new GG!

Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Chuck Bass

Lori – Monday, September 8, 2008 – 1 comment

Ed Westwick makes the perfect Chuck Bass. Brooding, Gorgeous and the perfect antagonist, we begin to see the softer side of Chuck Bass this season, but only for a few moments.

He has been with Blair, He has been with Serena, He tried to get with Jenny – nothing tells us more about Chuck Bass than this. He obsesses about sex, money and parties… nothing is more important to Chuck Bass than these things, until this season, when he realizes that he is in love with Blair Waldorf. If only Gossip Girl could see this side of Chuck Bass. I only hope to see a more sensitive side to Chuck this season.

Serena is lucky to have a hottie for a stepbrother – In the future, I see them growing closer and Chuck becoming closer into the circle of Serena, Blair, and Nate. Chuck is a good guy (very deep down) and we are going to see more of this in the future.

Interestingly enough, I fell in love with Chuck in the books, where he is portrayed as gay. I couldn’t see anything farther from the Chuck Bass that we have come to known and love/hate. In the books it seems as if he is friendless, but on the television show - personally, I love having a face to go with the names, and Gossip Girl has a new number one fan!

Surprises and Secrets

Sia – Sunday, September 7, 2008 – Leave a comment

So it’s Sunday night and, like any other senior, I’m looking for some cheap TV thrills before it’s back to textbooks and homework. I flip through the TV schedule for the night and, to my surprise, what should I see scheduled for eight o’clock? If you’re any good with predictions, you’ve probably already guessed it: Gossip Girl. I know what you’re thinking: it was a re-run. Gossip Girl airs every Monday at eight, with some channels showing re-runs on Sunday. Well you’re wrong. It was a new episode airing one day early. So now I have the honour of reporting back to you on episode two of this sizzling new season. But beware dedicated fans: spoilers ahead.

NOTE: I don’t do episode recaps. If you’re looking for an episode recap, I’m sure that another blogger on this site or elsewhere will be able to provide one.

If there’s one thing that this episode was full of, it was secrets. Nate and Catherine try to keep their relationship a secret. Nate keeps his family’s financial troubles a secret. Blair tries to keep her real self, friends, and life a secret from Marcus. Marcus tries to keep his mother’s disdain for his girlfriends a secret. Chuck tries to keep his lust/love for Blair a secret (well, from Marcus anyways). Dan and Serena try to keep their reunion a secret. Tsk, tsk. When will these children learn? When you start keeping secrets you’re just setting yourself up to get burned. And nobody wants that, do they?

Hampton Heat!

GossipGuy – Friday, September 5, 2008 – Leave a comment

yikes! that episode was scorching- there were more hotties there than at a Hefner party! It was good to see the gang not skip a beat after last season - trying to get right back on that hook-up horse! Nate - I did not see that coming; I thought he’d mope around a bit after losing Blair or or least make a play for S., but hooking up with a Hampton Heiress - awesome! Now thats a summer fling!

And poor Dan the Man; also trying to soothe the aching heart by playing the field, albeit with hot geek chicks. But, thanks to some timely fatherly advice from the tour (where were the groupies?) Dan was able to check his head and make amends with S. (and her granny - do I see a little May-September romance here?).

And Jenny - that plucky fashion wunderkind, too busy for boys; I think she’s going to date one of her dresses! Good for her for showing up her boss - no more button sorting for that gal! It was good to see Eric out of treatment, must have bought himself a day pass to sun himself on the beach.

And what can we say about Chuck and B.? Their on-again, off-again romance continues from last season. Everytime I think Chuck is going to man-up and sweep her off her feet with all the right words he goes limp. Who can blame her for trying to spark a little genuine passion in the player by yanking his gold chain? Hopefully though she doesn’t get too serious with Lord Stiffy, I see him more hooking up with Eric anyway.

Little disappointed to not see Vanessa or Lily make appearances; I though fo’ sho’ that Vanessa would be harassing Dan or Nate for a little play, and that Lily would toss her WonderBra at a Rufus concert, but maybe next episode…

check ya later,

GGuy

Scandalous… the REAL Gossip

ShorStar – Tuesday, September 2, 2008 – 1 comment

I am sure by now that most of you have seen the crap o’la that Perez has served up about Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf of Gossip Girl). If not then consider the following…

“Star magazine is reporting that the fabulous Leighton Meester of Gossip Girl was born behind bars!

Apparently, the starlet was born while her mother was serving a federal prison sentence in Texas. Her mom was allowed to stay in a halfway house for the birth but had to return to prison on the day Leighton turned three months.

Leighton was raised by a relative while her momma did time for her role in a major drug-running ring! Leighton’s mom isn’t the only member of her family who’s done time. Her dad, granddad and aunt were all jailed for drug dealing.

We respect the up-and-comer for achieving all that she has, despite the craziness in her life. See, y’all, doesn’t matter where you come from! It’s what you make yourself to be!

Who would’ve guessed that a kid of drug dealers could pull off Park Avenue princess so well?!”

Any thoughts on this one gang? Lets remember that the main sources are Star and Perez, which to be quite frank are not legit and are all based around infamous he-say/she-say routines! It’s the old saying that any press is good press and I believe that to be true for Leighton! Besides whats in the past can stay in the past right?

In other GG news that is sure to impress…

The ratings for last nigthts premiere were apparently fantastic for the CW. As a Canadian I could care less how the ratings are for the CW but lets go through the details shall we?

After a really bad summer for the network, the second season premiere of Gossip Girl on Monday night got the show’s highest ratings ever for them in all key demographics.

GG was able to return with a 6% increase in adult viewers since its premiere last yer. And it was also up 10% among the network’s key demographics, people between 18-34.

If anything last nights Season 2 premiere only helped the CW actually get viewers to tune into One Tree Hill.

CONGRATS GG!

Catch you back here again, the gossip on gossip can’t be over yet!

“Damn that MothaChucker!”

ShorStar – Tuesday, September 2, 2008 – Leave a comment

Well hello all, we meet again to dish the dirt on the start of a brand new Gossip Girl season!

From the season 1 montage to the opening scene of Nate getting down and dirty…I had goosebumps down my spine from the get-go! I know Rob posted about some of the tunes played in the first episode but does anyone know what the song was that was played during the Season 1 montage in the beginning of the new episode? I am dying to find out…

I was loving every minute immediately and I barely have anything to complain about. I think it is truly fantastic that Eric is getting a larger role this season…or at least hopefully. He seems to be playing a role of more importance, but if I were him I would tell little Jenny to take a hike…there is something about Jenny that doesn’t sit well with me, her and Dan both came off as far too pathetic for me this episode…hopefully that does not stay true all season. I can’t totally buy into Dan being a “ladies man” or him having that confrontation with the two chicks from the white party…though it was classic to see two brightly coloured martinis get spilled all over him…I still couldn’t buy it.

GG Tunes from Season Premiere

Robin – Tuesday, September 2, 2008 – Leave a comment

The second season premiere, “Summer, Kind of Wonderful,” lived up to a summer’s worth of hype and continued the tradition of hip Gossip Girl music serving as the soundtrack to our favorite characters’ antics. Here’s a look at last night’s Gossip Girl music selections:

  • Shwayze - Buzzin
  • The Windupdeads - Reverse Of Shade
  • Motion City Soundtrack - Fell In Love Without You
  • Lady GaGa - Paparazzi

If you can identify any other songs played during last night’s season premiere, just leave a comment and we’ll add them to the list.

Here We Go Again

Lima – Monday, September 1, 2008 – Leave a comment

Let’s face the facts, Gossip Girl Season 1 was heavy on the lies and it seems that Season 2 will be no different, but what happens when the tables are turned, and our Uptown boys and girls have become pros at lying to themselves…

While B and C continue to play their sordid game of cat and mouse, their passionate hatred only reveals their true passion for one another. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, but here’s something to take the edge off- no, not a gin martini, a Lord. Looks like B’s fake boyfriend “James” might have some real potential.
